Background:
McMullans ITM is a locally trusted building supplies merchant in Hokitika, committed to delivering quality service to the West Coast. As part of their ongoing growth and investment in customer experience, they identified the need for a modern drive-thru storage facility that could protect materials from the elements while ensuring smooth operational flow.
Challenge:
They needed a fully weatherproof storage solution that would streamline forklift movement, improve access, and support a better customer experience. It had to provide significant covered space while being practical, durable, and efficient to use every day.
Solution:
Stackit partnered with McMullans ITM to design and deliver a purpose-built drive-thru shed tailored to their operation. The structure includes; 945m² of covered racking space, 7000mm-wide drive-through aisles, allowing forklifts to easily manoeuvre all pack sizes and it is fully enclosed with cladding and roller doors, creating a dry, secure storage environment.
Results:
This design-build solution not only protects stock but also enhances daily operations for both staff and customers.
